Summing up the month of February

Pine tracks

So long ago, I asked you to guess what made these tracks. I said I'd post the answer next Sunday, but instead, I entirely forgot. So here is the answer, a few weeks late. They were made by a pine cone, rolling along on the ground. When I first saw it, I thought maybe it was made by some kind of snake!

Glowing Tiffany

One day I was surprised to discover that we have our very own Tiffany in my town!

It snowed 7 inches of very heavy and wet snow last night. Never got below 32 degrees either, so things are melting fast. I snapped this picture of some icicles on the roof, all fuzzy with snow.

I set out two maple taps today in a red maple (no sugar maples in my yard). The sap seems to be running well, I can't wait to boil it!

Westminster Dog Show

In honor of the Westminster Dog Show (Best in Show) happening tonight, I'll post this photo from last year. This Komondor was patiently waiting as it had it cords clipped to perfection and its groomer said that the clippings were called Komondor seeds and if I planted them they would sprout tiny Komondors.

After the storm....

Here is a photo of after the supposed seven inches of snow. It came closer to two inches and most of that was blown away by the wind. Oh well, I'm sure people in Virgina are rather envious of this as they try to dig their way out!

Tomorrow there is meant to be a bunch of snow (like 7 inches) so here is a before photo. I'll take an after photo too and post it whether it really snows that much or not!

Golden Mist

I'm still borrowing someone else's computer, so here is yet another photo from the past. This was taken on a foggy summer day as the sun set, causing the mist to glow gold.
