Summing it up
Here are 31 photos from the month of January, 2010. Click on the image so that you can see it full sized and do it justice! The moon photo I promised you is the second one up, on the far right. I promise that I did not download that picture off the web! It was shot by me at 11 o'clock at night and my fingers are still frozen enough to prove it.

In broad nightlight....
There was a great moon out last night. According to SpaceWeather, it was 14% wider and 30% brighter then your average moon. It was also much, much colder than the average tempature this week so I took this photo from the living room window.
I used a 15 second exposure, but this is really what it looked like. I also took a picture of the moon on an 80x zoom, which you can see tomorrow.

Frozen wonder
I took this photo the day after I got my new camera. I love how the water frothed and bubbled beneath the ice of a stream.

Magical flora
Decided to go random tonight. This is the ninth photo of my tenth folder which has lots of photos modified to have focal Black & White

Happy Presents Day!
Ellie (a service dog in training who stays in the prison five days a week, but has been in there for a month due to several factors) came home today and got to unwrap her Christmas gifts late. Very late. Oh well!

Door will open......
Went and visited the neighbor's Springer Spaniels today. Bailey (pictured above) sits at the door and seems to think that he can make it open by staring at it.

Atrium Watching
The library has a glass pyramid roof in the Atrium that makes for an excellent mirror after dark. You can see everything and everyone, reading books, looking through the shelves, watching computer screens, etc

Infestion
Last year the garden was infested with slugs. Even now, in the dead of winter the cat's wheatgrass has been plagued by polymer clay slugs, a gift from wonderful neighbors across the street. (We are good friends, I assure you)

High flying
I watched this hawk land in a tree at a local shopping mall parking lot. I didn't have my new camera then, alas, so it a very poor quality zoom. I used the focal black and white feature in Picasa to tone down the trees so the hawk was more visable
